For all things that exist are seen to be ordered to each other since some serve others. But things that are diverse do not harmonize in the same order, unless they are ordered thereto by one. For many are reduced into one order by one better than by many: because one is the per se cause of one, and many are only the accidental cause of one, inasmuch as they are in some way one. Since therefore what is first is most perfect, and is so per se and not accidentally, it must be that the first which reduces all into one order should be only one. And this one is God.

https://www.newadvent.org/summa/1011.htm#article3

Juxtaposed solar systems, and many of them without planets and planets mostly without life does not look as much like this as one universe circling around earth each day.Hans Georg Lundahlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01055583255516264955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447603865959500290.post-78207729937297491142020-10-28T08:27:42.120-04:002020-10-28T08:27:42.120-04:00Note well, a movement that is circular involves ac...Note well, a movement that is circular involves acceleration sideways.

Certain movements in astronomy are supposed to be not strictly circular, but elliptic and apart from the sideways acceleration also involving an acceleration and a deceleration as to speed (movement along circle segment takes a time proportional to its surface, in that ideology).

Ergo astronomy (even if considered as heliocentric) is not an exception.Hans Georg Lundahlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01055583255516264955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447603865959500290.post-10122980501408042132020-08-30T01:32:34.120-04:002020-08-30T01:32:34.120-04:00Elon Musk is making neuralink, which will give us ...Elon Musk is making neuralink, which will give us global mind control. It's not very plausible that he doesn't realize this, given how the internet is today. When I first read these arguments in sophomore year in college, just right over my head - the whole 'has to be actual because there cannot be an infinite regress' seemed just goofy. Wasn't yet used to St. Thomas's perfectly practical practice of not rehashing every argument each time he uses the conclusion.

BTW: Elon Musk and SpaceX are Firestar come to life. I think of that book whenever SpaceX does it's latest thing. Thinking about asking Musk (If I can figure out how) if he's read it.Joseph Moorehttps://yardsaleofthemind.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
