  1. TOF: Its not they're fault if they don't know the difference. Your being too harsh.

  2. I suppose you're right. There's a problem in perception, though, because one encounters mistakes like these in a very substantial piece of work, and there's often no good way quietly to alert the author to these errors. The alternative then is to ignore them, or put the corrections in the postings, which looks really petty.

I suppose I could create my own "Eats Shoots and Leaves" blog, where I comb the internet correcting these errors, but then I'd have to avoid ever making such an error and I'm pretty sure I couldn't pull it off. With all due respect to TOF, not even he pulls it off.

  4. Thanks for you're help, Mr.Flynn! I'm only a beginning blogger and their so many mistakes I can easily overlook. Its awfully embarrassing for many of my first-time readers to get the impression I'm a sloppy writer!

  5. That would cut out most internet traffic. Maybe not such a bad thing.

BTW and FWIW: After I 'outgrew' an adolescent fascination, I was turned off sci-fi for a long time, mostly for good reasons. Recently I read Eifelheim. Then The January Dancer, Up Jim River, and am in the middle of In the Lion's Mouth. Thanks.

    1. Notably, I have not read On the Razor's Edge yet. Perhaps I live in a time-space bubble isolated from the world where reality moves slower than it should.

Should I contact my system administrator? Surely this must be some kind of error.

    3. Seems like we're both in that reality where times moves slower than it should. I shall get to work on this.
