Over and over again he expresses in beautiful prose the double meaning that the events the character is experiencing have. In a single sentence he can show how the action of an event can mean one thing when observed from the outside and the very opposite when observed from inside the character. Marvelous!

Mike, Congratulations on that great review of In the Lion's Mouth, your essay, etc.! I've been busy with assorted projects (remodeling the house, training the puppy, and writing a bit), or I'd hang around and try to keep up with your doings more. Btw, you might be interested in knowing that AOL will be removing the message boards February 20. Remember the Golden Age? Sigh.
