There have been sightings in various parts of the country of Creepy Clowns with fixed and painted smiles painted on their faces.
There is also an election underway.

One of the local religions actually has clown-gods who reinforce morals by ridiculing transgressors. During the masked dances, the dancers dressed as the clown-gods act as ushers to keep order among the onlookers.
